Maggie and James finished 5th in the World Championship Classic Pleasure Equitation finals. We were darn proud of both of them! James won't be asked to make any more long trips. He gave her 120%. They finished their junior exhibitor careers with style and class.

AMHA Prelim

Maggie nailed her pattern yesterday in the AMHA prelim. We were all cautiously optimistic that she would make the cut. She didn't and is very disappointed. There were 28 riders and they took 12. We knew it would be difficult since they were competing against pleasure horses who go bigger than classic horses, but after watching the pattern work felt as if they had a strong chance. She handled her disappointment with dignity and class. All of us are proud of her.

She won't ride until Saturday's World Championship. There's not a classic rider who can do patterns like she does. If all goes as planned, she'll ride in the Coliseum Saturday night in the parade of champions--that will help make up for yesterday.

The people who bred James are here, as well as the woman who bought him as a weanling. They watched the class and were very impressed. It's nice hearing what he was like as a youngster, and they have told us how happy they are that he's with a girl who loves him.

I'll add the video from yesterday's class later.

Maggie & James finished 3rd in the Grand National Classic Saddleseat Equitation finals yesterday. They're qualified for the World Championship on Saturday. Tomorrow is the prelim of the AMHA finals. There's a pattern tomorrow which has always been their strong suit. 30 kids in the prelim round so there will be some tough competition. But she wants it!

It's exactly 14 hours from our house to OKC, including a few stops for gas, food and to trade drivers. Maggie had a great view of the Arch in St. Louis and got some pictures. She was convinced that we were to be going through Kansas City and it was only after I told her the detour would add another 6 hours that she decided the map was correct.

We changed hotels- there was some side business going on with some ladies. Makes for a great story! And Maggie favorite waiter from Zio's is no longer there--but it's still great food!

James is full of himself. David Earhart whistled while Maggie was riding and even after 4 years he remember. Maggie felt his reaction. There are over 1200 horses here this year. Our stalls are perfect. Close to the action. The changes that have been made at the fairgrounds are unbelieveable! We'll have pictures.

The weather is warm-90 today. Maggie and Kelsey took advantage of othe pool last night and swam. Today Maggie will have a short ride, perhaps practice the pattern and then get James' cleaned up. Kelsey's the first class in tomorrow morning. Maggie should ride about 10:30.
